The crazy cats (or maybe dogs) from Abbottsford most famous brewery, Moon Dog have just released 3 new beers in time for Christmas.
Perverse Sexual Amalgam - A dark sour ale brewed with Cherry plums.
Henry Fords Girthsome Fjord - A Belgo - American Brown Ale
The Black Lung - A smoky stout aged in whiskey barrels.
All 3 are as delicious as they are wacky, and crazy limited, so get in quick or you'll miss out.
I was really excited to see these beers because I'm keen to support what Moondog are doing - but tonight I opened a bottle of the Black Lung which had been sitting upright on a shelf completely undisturbed for 5 and a half hours and it erupted like a volcano, the beer gushing out and nearly emptying the bottle in seconds flat. What little was left - about a fifth of the bottle - tasted absolutely fantastic and if Moondog can get the beer under control I'll have no hesitation buying it again, but until then I'm afraid it's buyer beware.

ReplyDeleteThanks Josh. For what it's worth, I had a bottle of the Henry Ford on Sunday and I've had several bottles of the Skunkworks in the past and I've had no problems with either.
